Prut Records is an independent music label born on the banks of the Prut River — the natural border that separates and connects Moldova and Romania. We exist to amplify the alternative music scene of these two countries and bring it to the world.

We are not a corporation. We are not backed by investors. We are a community of musicians, listeners, and believers in local music — built from the ground up with zero budget and unlimited passion.

We find alternative bands from Moldova and Romania, distribute their music to every major streaming platform in the world, and promote them across our growing online community.

The alternative music scene of Moldova and Romania is alive, raw, and largely invisible to the rest of the world. Talented bands play in small venues, record in home studios, and release music that never reaches the audience it deserves — not because it isn't good enough, but because the infrastructure to support it simply didn't exist.

Prut Records is that infrastructure.

The Prut River has divided Moldova and Romania for decades. In 1990, thousands of people crossed that border holding flowers in a human chain — a movement known as Podul de Flori, the Bridge of Flowers — to show that a river cannot separate a culture, a language, or a people.

Our label carries that spirit.
